We salute clinical social worker, Bob Buckley, LCSW, a senior faculty member and clinical supervisor at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC. In BR’s book, Invisible Heroes , he’s the guy who introduced the pink satin, pillowy heart as the talking stick for the recovery groups in Kosovo.

One of the very first mental health professionals to be trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Bob has been at the forefront of traumatic stress work - first in Alexandria, where he ran the Consultation & Education Department at the mental health center; and now all over the globe.

Among many, many other things, Bob was part of the US team that responded to the New York Fire Department's personnel and families after 9-11. He’s a critically important staff member with the CMBM’s awesome International Team, working with their Healing the Emotional Wounds of War program and their Mind-Body Medicine Training for leaders in trauma care (therapists, teachers and community leaders) in Kosovo, Israel and Gaza. He also teaches at the Center’s CancerGuides® professional training in the United States and provides distance clinical supervision from his home in Florida.

He says to be sure to mention that he uses guided imagery wherever he goes and in all of his work. He can be reached at rbuc2003@yahoo.com or 561-330-8636.

Quote of the Day
Most of the stuff I say is true because I saw it in a dream, and I don't have the presence of mind to make up lies when I'm asleep.
